Complete prosthesis. Ref.: 62
The complete prosthesis is an appliance for the treatment of total edentulism that replaces the lost natural teeth and rehabilitates the bone structures that have atrophied over time, after the loss of teeth.
This is why it not only serves to improve chewing, but also speech and, especially, esthetics, which are very deteriorated in the completely edentulous patient.
It is important to remove the prosthesis daily in order to sanitize them correctly. There are specific brushes for this purpose, as well as special tablets to dissolve in water and introduce the prosthesis in it.
Over time, the bone on which the prostheses rest changes shape, so they will loosen, causing discomfort or ulcerations that require adaptation by the dentist, and/or replacement, after a variable period of time, with new ones.
