Fractures and cracks in teeth can occur in different parts of the tooth and can affect the survival of the tooth.

These fractures can be: of the root obliquely, of the crown with the fracture line extending below the gingiva, of the crown with the fracture line above the gingiva, of the root apex vertically, of the crown vertically extending to the roots, and of the crown horizontally.
