The impaction of food between the teeth, if not properly sanitized, can lead to decay in the neck of the tooth below the gum.
A poorly performed filling that overflows can be a major source of accumulation of food debris and plaque, which can lead to the appearance of caries under the filling. In this case, the filling should be repeated, eliminating the remains of caries and leaving a correct contact point with the adjacent tooth.
